Lifestyle brand LF (CEO: Oh Gyu-Sik) showcased the 2019 spring-summer men’s and
women’s collection for British classic luxury brand DAKS on June 19 (local
time) during the Milan Fashion Week.
Showcasing its second joint men’s and women’s collection, DAKS seeks to gain a
synergy that runs through the entire collection in terms of its central theme,
color, texture, fit, pattern and intricate design.
Celebrating its 125th year in 2019, DAKS showcased a collection most
heavily inspired by British heritage to commemorate the brand’s long history
and identity. Elegance and vibrancy describe its 2019 spring-summer collection
inspired by the Kensington Gardens and the Highgrove Gardens, two of the most
well-known royal gardens in England.
Keywords for this latest collection include lemon yellow, wood green, light
blue, orange, pink and other vivid, high-chroma colors, while vibrant prints
using flowers and antique paintings reinterpret looks from the 1970s and the
fragrant, colorful gardens of England.
The
brand’s signature check pattern also plays an important role in the collection.
In celebration of its 125 years of history, DAKS redesigned its house check to
enhance and pass on its brand value on a groundbreaking level, while applying
the check pattern to various textures such as jacquard and chiffon for a new
take on its signature classic look.
A
harmonious mix of heavy fabrics including thick cotton, georgette [1] and silk
adds to the rich texture of the clothing collection, whereas the use of
leather, canvas and raffia in the accessories collection creates casual and
cool summer looks.
Founded
in 1894 in London, DAKS is inspired by classic British heritage, blending the
traditional and the modern to offer styles that have been loved all over the
world for over 120 years. In Korea, LF has licensed the brand since 1983.
