DAKS MEN, a British classic menswear brand, hosted the DAKS MEN Collection Fashion Show during the 2018 Spring/Summer Fashion Week in Milano,

 and presented a glimpse into the fashion trends that will be seen next year. The Milano Fashion Week is the world’s largest fashion event that attracts renowned designers and fashion people from around the world. 

As for the collection presented at the Fashion Week, Filippo Scuffi, the Creative Direction (CD) of DAKS MEN, attempted to express classy masculinity by drawing inspirations from the typical social calendar of the British elites in the

 17th to 19th centuries that would begin with a major social gathering in London and end with a luxury vacation on a cruise in the Atlantic. 

As the first theme, the Royal Ascot, a racing meet and a venue for social gatherings with over 300 years of history, was reinterpreted with a formal look with a shirt,

 tie, vest, jacket as well as a hat. Centering on brown color tones, diagonal stripes and argyle patterns were employed, which was a bold attempt at breaking the mold. Instead of using heavy fabrics, light linen materials were used,

 and a hard top hat was transformed into a straw hat to emphasize soft masculinity. 

A classic British summer fashion style was presented using Henley Royal Regatta, a prestigious world-class rowing event, as the second theme. Light and soft linen and silk were used on suits, 

which can be somewhat heavy, and this added a relaxed vibe that is unique to the rowing blazer. Also, colors inspired by the scenery of Henry Royal Regatta were used in combination to create the DAKS Regatta Stripe pattern,

 which was applied to a wide range of items, and they evoked an image of the British elites, watching a historical rowing event in elegant stripe suits. 

Using the Cunard Cruise, renowned for offering luxury cruises, as the final theme, DAKS presented a British cruise look, evoking an image of the British people enjoying a relaxing time over the ocean after a fantastic social event.

 The comfortable-looking knitted sweater, wide striped pants, and lightweight windbreaker blended flawlessly with the subtle beige tones to capture the magical experience of traveling, 

and these items were matched with a pair of boat shoes, where the contrast between the black and white colors stood out, to complete a stylish travel look. 

Meanwhile, DAKS, which was incepted in London in 1894, is a brand that represents the classic style of the British, and presents styles that integrate tradition and modernity harmoniously.

 It has been a beloved brand around the world for more than 120 years. In Korea, LF has been distributing DAKS products since 1982 through brand licensing.
